Who is Orphan Outreach?
The mission of Orphan Outreach is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by ministering to orphans around the world, by meeting their spiritual, physical, emotional and educational needs.


Why donate backpacks?
Education is something every child needs for a bright future. For an orphan or impoverished child, who has no family to rely on, it is their only hope. Orphan Outreach is encouraging individuals and groups to collect new and gently used back packs for us to give to our partner schools and orphanages. Backpacks will be distributed with school supplies on Orphan Outreach mission trips.


What kind of backpacks are you collecting?
We need every size and type of backpack, messenger style bags and tote bags. Items donated can be new and/or gently used.


What school supplies do you need to go in the backpacks?
Unfortunately paper products are very expensive to ship but these items are always desperately needed in the orphanages we work in.

Blue or Black medium point pens
Glue

What countries do you work in?
Orphan Outreach currently has staff and projects in Guatemala, Honduras, India, and Russia.  We also supply backpacks to partner organizations that serve children in the U.S. and around the world.


Can I get a receipt for my donations?
Orphan Outreach is approved by the IRS as a tax-exempt  501(c)(3) non profit organization. Your donations to Mission Backpack are tax deductible as allowed by US law.

 
What are cash donations used for?
Cash donations are vital to helping us quickly ship the backpacks and school supplies to the children in need. We suggest a gift of $2 per backpack to help defer the costs of local and overseas shipping.

How is my donation used?
Orphan Outreach is committed to keeping administrative costs to a minimum. We have philanthropic donations that cover most of our administration and overhead costs. Money donated to overseas programs will go directly to support the projects that immediately impact the orphans and at risk we serve.


What are mission trips?
Orphan Outreach offers short term mission trips to deliver the Backpacks and personally meet the children that benefit from the collection.  Mission trip volunteers are vital to us being able to reach more orphans with humanitarian aid and the hope of our Heavenly Father.
